Albin Paulus plays: clarinet, bagpipes, jew’s harps, shawms, flutes, vocals,
yodelling.
Born in Germany, but Austrian roots. He studied the classical clarinet. Very soon, however, he dedicated himself to the Jew’s harp, the bagpipe and the alpine yodel. Beyond the field of European world music, Albin excels as a classical jew’s harp virtuoso and a specialist for ancient music as well (CD of Albrechtsberger's jew's harp concertos, with Piccolo Concerto Wien, concerts with Ensemble baroque de Limoges, l'Orfeo Barockorchester, Schikaneders Jugend, Concilium Musicum Wien).
In the years 1997 and 2005 he came second at the prestigious Saint Chartier Bagpipe Competition in France.
