Born in Vienna. As a child, he studied the classical violin. Later “Stoney” dedicated himself - autodidactically - to the hurdy-gurdy, the diatonic accordion, and the nyckelharpa.
He is a skilful dance musician, folk composer and a pivot of the Viennese folk scene. Intensive cooperation with the pioneer of electroacoustic music, Hans Joachim Roedelius.
