HOTEL PALINDRONE play music deeply rooted in European traditions. At the same time - in a lively, open and playful way - it is full of contemporary
elements. Timeless tunes which oscillate effortlessly between nostalgic -
sometimes archaic - impressions and a modern attitude towards life.
Alpine
HOTEL PALINDRONE emphasize their Austrian musical roots. This does not mean they want to be traditionalists strictly preserving a regional heritage: The musicians consider themselves communicators who highlight and allude to the rich variety of European music. Hotel Palindrone refer to stylistic elements that go back to the early 19th century, long before alpine drone-music traditions were completely superseded by urban dance music à la Johann Strauß.
Another element used by Hotel Palindrone is the alpine yodel - teached in workshops on festivals.
Compositions
Their creative dealing with tradition is reflected in Hotel
Palindrone's compositions. They wrote more than 100 tunes. Most of them by Stephan "Stoney" Steiner, some by Albin Paulus.
